Internet Devices per Capita
I have data on internet devices per capita. What is that? It is the average number of internet devices owned per person in a household. This data aggregates the US with Canada, Mexico and other North American countries. What is the number for America? According to this research, it is about 17 devices per capita.

Electronic Sales per Capita
What about electronics sales per capita? The chart below shows how much each country spent on electronics per person in 2023. As you might expect by now, America comes out ahead. The differences here are much smaller than we have seen in some earlier comparisons.

Wealthy nations such as the US, Norway and Switzerland have higher per capita spending on electronics. It makes sense that people in wealthy nations would have more to spend on these things.

The US spends a lot on electronics imports. Far more than the other countries we saw above. It also has a far larger population than those countries. China spends more, but it has a vast population, so its per capita spending is far lower.

Immigrant Wealth Over Time
It seems Americans are indeed richer. If you want to become wealthier, move here. Here is some more data to support that! We have immigration data that supports this. According to the Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Participation (SIPP):
Immigrant Household Wealth over Time

Immigrant households get wealthier over time as they stay in America. That should not be surprising. Why do you think they came here? Yes, many came to escape repression in their home countries. They come for many reasons. But many come to become richer!
Census data shows that non‑citizen immigrants have about $35,300 in wealth, compared to $212,000 for citizens. This suggests that wealth grows the longer immigrants live in the United States—and that becoming a citizen often brings greater wealth.
This shows how wealthy Americans are. Wherever immigrants come from, they typically end up better off here than in their home country.

Americans Vast Wealth!
Are you convinced yet? The numbers speak for themselves: Americans are the wealthiest people on Earth. Yes, some people experience significant poverty. Yes, the wealth gap is real. But these are exceptions—not the rule. The average American has wealth that most of the world can scarcely imagine. It’s time we stopped talking ourselves into misery and started appreciating the prosperity we already enjoy.
This wealth may not last forever. Tariffs, export restrictions, and destructive regulations—whether from the Right or the Left—threaten to slow growth and invite economic turbulence. Stagflation is not impossible. The future will test whether America can remain the global benchmark for wealth.
Will Americans maintain their status as the wealthiest on the planet? Most likely—even if economic turbulence lies ahead. Many other nations are already struggling. Can you name one country set to overtake the US anytime in the immediate future? The global economy depends on the US – a downturn in the U.S. would ripple across the globe. To preserve its prosperity, America needs sound, free‑market policies for the long run. For now, Americans enjoy remarkable wealth—and should value it.
If we are to remain wealthy, we must look to our most productive enterprises—and the millions of Americans who power them. From visionaries like Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Garrett Camp, and Jerry Sanders. Countless workers turn ideas into reality, powering the engines of American innovation. Without them, our standard of living would collapse. With them, it keeps rising to new heights.
So let’s stop vilifying the very forces that make our prosperity possible. Let’s thank them, support them, and clear the path for them to keep building. Political movements will come and go. Innovation, enterprise, and hard work make America great. So, let’s stop draining away their lifeblood through taxes and regulations!
Our productive enterprises will prosper if our politicians let them. Let’s stop guiding them away from the path of prosperity. Let them forge paths up to new heights of prosperity. That requires freedom. That is what America needs to stay wealthy. We must fight for freedom! That is what I am doing. What about you?
